BACKGROUND

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the concept whereby companies act to balance their own economic growth with the sustainable social and environmental development of their areas of operation. A company performing highly in CSR is one that goes beyond compliance with the legal framework to actively pursue positive impacts on local communities and its environmental footprint.

Due to the growing of public awareness and demand for socially responsible businesses, the companies of today take corporate social responsibility into account when planning future socially responsible business operations. They typically incorporate environmental and social priorities into their business decisions, including their business plans, CSR budgets and financial investments.

Investors and other stakeholders demanding greater accuracy in the process of budgeting and financial reporting of the program. The reason in doing this, is for more efficient and targeted the using of budgets for CSR program, so that the impact of this program is really to build community self-reliance in the future.

Based on this idea,  initiated a workshop about “Budgeting Principles for CSR Program”, which aims to examine more deeply about a company needs in improving the budgeting process on their CSR programs and benefit from its implementation or application. This understanding is expected to increase the capacity of the business (corporate) sectors of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects of managing CSR programs in a transparent budgeting and better reporting.

OBJECTIVE

  • Incresing the understand of budgeting principles of company in improving Corporate Social Responsibility Budgeting Process and its benefit of implementation;
  • Improving the skills of the participants in applying the technique of budgeting within the framework of CSR programs accurately and efficiently both for the planning, implementation to reporting;
  • Sharing experiences, both among participants and with resource persons regarding problems in understanding the methods and techniques of budgeting planning process for effective CSR programs.

OUTPUTS

  • Understanding of a Company Needs to Improve its Corporate Social Responsibility Budgeting Process: Principles, Signs and Advantages
  • Applying the budgeting process for the CSR program

This workshop will use participatory methods through various methods, among others:

  • Tutoring
  • Interactive discussion
  • Case Study
  • Sharing experience

  1. Basics of planning and budgeting of CSR program
  2. Budgeting Principles for company to Improve its Corporate Social Responsibility Budgeting Process

  4. Methods and tools of planning budgeting for CSR program
  5. Management and reporting
